I’m a writer, researcher, and professor whose work explores the interior architecture of the human experience—where psychology, spirituality, identity, and transformation intersect. I hold a PhD in Communication, a Master’s in Counseling, and a Bachelor’s in English Writing from the University of Oklahoma, where I serve as Associate Professor in the Department of Human Relations.
My books, The Narcissist in You and Everyone Else: Recognizing the 27 Types of Narcissism (Rowman and Littlefield) and Center of the Universe: Transforming the 27 Types of Narcissism from the Inside Out (Bloomsbury Academic), reflect over two decades of work with personality theory, narcissism, empathy, and the evolution of consciousness. Through my company, Empathy Architects, I coach individuals, consult with organizations, and develop training programs that combine research-based insight with intuitive strategy.
I’m equal parts rigorous scholar and creative artist. I’m the Founder and Creative Director of Central Oklahoma Ballet Theatre, where I choreograph contemporary ballets exploring psychological and archetypal themes. I began dancing at age 32 and now direct and choreograph professionally. In 2024, I took up oil painting, specializing in landscapes that echo the stillness and subtlety I value in all art forms and inner work.
I was born in Oklahoma City and now reside in Norman, Oklahoma. Whether I’m writing, teaching, consulting, painting, or choreographing, my work is always about the same thing: helping people see more clearly and live more truthfully.
